Join us for this trip to upstate New York's Hudson Valley, where we will see magnificent Gilded Age mansions and visit West Point Military Academy.

DAY 1 - Take a two-hour narrated cruise on the Hudson River aboard the Pride of the Hudson, passing historic lighthouses, waterfront mansions, and some of the river's most unique and fascinating locations. We'll check in at the Quality Inn, Fishkill, then enjoy an included dinner at a local diner. (D)

DAY 2 - Meet our local guide and depart for the Culinary Institute of America, where we will meet with current students at the Culinary Institute of America, learn about the school and what it is like taking classes there, and enjoy a unique tasting experience. Then, we'll be treated to a delicious lunch at one of the schools' restaurants. Then take a tour of Springwood Estate, the boyhood home and museum of Franklin D Roosevelt, and visit the FDR Presidential Library and Museum. (B,L)

DAY 3 -Take a guided tour of the Beaux-Arts Mills Mansion, a great estate with 65 rooms and 14 bathrooms! Then, enjoy lunch on your own at the Everready Diner before we take a guided tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion, a remarkably complete example of a Gilded Age country palace. Then, explore Val-Kill, Eleanor Roosevelt's quaint stone getaway, and take a guided tour of the Walkway over the Hudson, a 1.28 mile bridge over the Hudson River. We'll end the day with dinner at Mahoney's Irish Pub & Steakhouse. (B,D)

DAY 4 -Before departing the Hudson Valley we'll take a 90-minute guided tour of the campus of the US Military Academy at West Point to hear about its' famous history and stories about its' graduates that have shaped our nation, and then visit the West Point Museum. (B)
