Stars and Stripes and Chesapeake Bay Delights

Monday, April 26 – Thursday, April 29

Travel to the beautiful Chesapeake  Bay for a taste of all Annapolis has to offer! We’ll enjoy a full day excursion to St. Michaels Island, a visit to the Annapolis Naval Academy, and more!

DAY 1 – We’ll travel to Annapolis where we will check into our hotel, the Graduate by Hilton, Annapolis, just steps from the historic downtown. Tonight you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. (D)

DAY 2 - Cruise across the Chesapeake Bay to St. Michaels on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. With about three hours ashore, explore the fresh seafood, boutique shopping, and historic sites that this quaint historic village has to offer. Admission is included to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. End your day with a cruise back to Annapolis. (B)

DAY 3 – We’ll visit the Annapolis Naval Academy, home to over 4,000 midshipmen (photo ID required). We’ll see the US Naval Academy Chapel and Crypt of John Paul Jones, Bancroft Hall (building interiors if available), and hear stories of years past and current education, service and leadership requirements of today’s future officers on our walking tour of the yard. After our tour, we’ll sit down for a lunch at the Officers Club. Then, we’ll head to Annapolis’ historic district for a tour of the Paca House & Gardens, a Georgian Mansion built in 1760 by William Paca, the 3rd Governor of Maryland and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. While we visit the Paca House, we will indulge in the Maryland State Dessert, Smith Island Cake. (B,L, Cake)

DAY 4 – Stroll through the charming streets of the historic district with your colonial-attired guide, who will share four

centuries of Annapolis’ unique history and culture, highlighting the 18th century. You will pass middling homes and gentry mansions on your way to explore the Maryland State House. In the shadows of these buildings, your guide will share stories of the famous statesmen who built these magnificent structures.
