Embrace the spirit of the holidays in the quintessential New England town of Woodstock, Vermont where every year they host Vermont’s most elaborate winter celebration; Wassail Weekend. From horse-drawn carriage rides trundling down snow-kissed streets to town folk donned in period attire, Woodstock is overflowing with old fashioned yuletide charm!  You’ll have nearly five hours free in downtown Woodstock to take in all the “Wassail Weekend” activities.  On the Town Green you’ll find a large local artisan’s craft fair to complete your shopping list and the Wassail Cafe serving Hot Wassail (a traditional holiday punch served to carolers). Local downtown shops will be hosting sales and activities (for a sweet treat check out the hot cocoa & donut bar on the lawn of the Woodstock Inn!). 

One of the most treasured events of the weekend is the Wassail Horse Parade featuring equestrians in traditional holiday costumes, over 50 beautiful horses and decorated wagons with carolers and musicians, riding through the village and circling the Town Green. At the conclusion of the parade, join Father Christmas and the townsfolk for the lighting of the huge Christmas Memory Tree and Yule Log bonfire accompanied by community sing along. Sure to be a treasured holiday memory in the making!
