Offering an immersive experience where you can get up close and personal with a diverse range of marine life, you’ll encounter mesmerizing sea creatures in their natural habitats, including sharks, stingrays, penguins, sea lions, otters, turtles, seahorses, sea jellies, and more!  The aquarium features over 70 exhibits with over 10,000 animals, the largest shark & ray touch tank on the East Coast, and hands-on starfish & horseshoe crab tanks. 

The centerpiece of the New England Aquarium is the Great Ocean Tank, a massive 200,000-gallon, 4 story high structure containing an extraordinary, fabricated coral reef.  A large spiral staircase with over 50 viewing windows surrounds the Great Ocean Tank enabling visitors to see the reef from a variety of angles, home to over 100 species including sharks, sea turtles, eels, barracudas, tropical fish and more! Included with your admission is a ticket to the aquarium’s state-of-the-art immersive 3D theater, featuring jaw dropping cinematography on a giant screen nearly five stories high (one of the largest screens in all of New England).  The aquarium runs a selection of marine animal documentary movies in the theater for an educational and entertaining addition to the exhibits!
