Enjoy the crisp fall air on this two-day getaway to the beautiful Berkshires. We'll stay in the heart of Stockbridge at the historic Red Lion Inn.

DAY 1 - We'll travel to the Berkshires and stop at the Mount, the home of Edith Wharton, author of "the Age of Innocence." Our house tour will reveal the history of The Mount, and chronicles Wharton's life and legacy. The entire estate was designed as a complete work of art, with a classically inspired Main House, an elegant Georgian Revival Stable, formal gardens and sculpted landscape. Enjoy lunch at The Mount before we head to Stockbridge and check in at the historic Red Lion Inn. You'll enjoy the Old New England charm of our hotel, which has welcomed generations of travelers since 1773. Antiques are found throughout the hotel, and the rockers on the front porch are the perfect place to relax and breathe in the crisp fall air. We'll visit the grounds of Naumkeag to experience the Incredible Pumpkin Show. See thousands of carved pumpkins, mums, light displays, and themed decorated areas, all set among the grounds of the historic Gilded Age property. (L,D)

DAY 2 - After breakfast, we'll visit the Norman Rockwell Museum, home to the largest collection of original Rockwell art, including his Saturday Evening Post illustrations. Exhibits include Norman Rockwell: Illustrating Humor and Highlights, the permanent collection, and a rare series of early twentieth century lighting ads by Norman Rockwell created for Edison Mazda Lamps. Explore downtown Stockbridge and enjoy lunch (on own). Then visit Hilltop Orchards, home to Furnace Brook Winery and JMash Cidery, nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires, it has spectacular views of three states! We'll take a tour to see how they make their hard ciders and age them in oak barrels, and enjoy a cider and wine tasting experience. Browse their shop for apples, cider, wine, gourmet foods, and apple cider donuts before we head back to the Cape.
