Boothbay Harbor & Maine Lobster Festival

Get away on a seafood lovers dream to beautiful Boothbay Harbor and a visit to the 78th Annual Maine Lobster Festival!

Boothbay Harbor & Maine Lobster Festival

Sunday, August 3 – Tuesday, August 5

The coastal town of Boothbay Harbor, Maine is a perfect destination for a quick summer getaway! Our hotel, the Boothbay Harbor Inn, is located directly on the waterfront, and offers picturesque views of the harbor combined with a convenient location next to the famous wooden footbridge. Just a short walk will take you downtown to the harbor’s many shops, galleries and restaurants. We’ll also visit the annual Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland.

DAY 1 –We’ll travel to the scenic coast of Maine in the quaint town of Rockland for the Maine Lobster Festival. The Maine Lobster Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year with the promise of fresh, local lobster dinners, nationally renowned entertainers, cooking contests, activities for all ages, Maine craftsmen and artists. You’ll have four hours to explore the festival and enjoy lunch on your own. Whether you prefer a traditional family-style lobster bake, a lobster roll on the go, or a hot bowl of lobster chowder, you’ll find it all at this fabulous lobster festival. Then we’ll continue on to Boothbay Harbor and check into our waterfront hotel, the Boothbay Harbor Inn.

DAY 2 – After a relaxing morning, our Downeast Clambake Adventure begins with a scenic cruise of Boothbay Harbor to Cabbage Island. The Downeast Clambake on Cabbage Island is cooked in seaweed, steamed from top to bottom, & covered with rocks to capture all the flavor and sweetness of fresh Maine lobsters and clams. Your meal includes traditional New England Fish Chowder, TWO luscious lobsters, steamed clams wrapped, corn on the cob, onion, and new Maine potatoes. You have the remainder of the day to explore the shops downtown or relax by the water. (B, Clambake).

DAY 3 - We will stop at Ogunquit’s beautiful Perkins Cove for a first-hand lobstering experience, aboard the Finestkind Lobstering Cruise. You will see traps hauled and lobsters caught by an authentic Maine lobsterman. Your guide will provide a detailed explanation of the lobster fishery and the many scenic points of interest along the way. Enjoy time for lunch & shopping in Perkins Cove and have the chance to take a stroll on the scenic Marginal Way footpath along the rocky Maine coast before returning to the Cape. (B)
