Amish Country Roads with "Noah" at Sight & Sound

Monday, May 19 – Wednesday, May 21

Enjoy the Pennsylvania Amish Farmlands picturesque scenery as you meander across country roads and learn about the Amish way of life. Take advantage of the chance to “Noah” at Sight and Sound’s Millennium Theatre on the show’s 30th Anniversary!

DAY 1 – We will visit Longwood Gardens to see the landscape awaken and the splendor of spring emerge. With dogwoods, magnolias, wisterias, azaleas, foam-flowers, and more than 240,000 tulips, Spring Blooms creates a symphony of color. Wander the outdoor gardens and experience Peirce’s Woods, alive with flowering trees and a robust layer of herbaceous plants. Breathe in the fresh air and relish the beauty of spring! We’ll stay at the newly renovated Hershey Farm Resort for two nights.

DAY 2 – Our local guide will take us on a tour of the Amish countryside, with stops at an Amish market, farm, quilt shop and bakery. Along the way, we’ll learn about the Amish beliefs and customs. Then, enjoy time for lunch and shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village for some authentic Pennsylvania Dutch Country shopping in the 40 specialty shops of the Village. Visit the Jam & Relish Kitchen to see the local Mennonite women canning jams, salsas & relishes – with LOTS of samples to tempt you! Relax at the hotel before our delicious PA Dutch Smorgasbord at Hershey Farms Restaurant. Tonight, you’ll have the option to enjoy tickets to the show “Noah” at Sight & Sound’s Millennium Theatre. (B,D)

DAY 3 – We’ll visit a Pennsylvania Dutch traditional Farmers Market and auction at the Green Dragon Farmers Market & Auction. You’ll find local farmers and Amish at their booths selling their wares – you’ll find cheeses, meats, produce, canned goods, antiques, quilts, delicious bakery products and Amish food stands. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord before we return to the Cape. (B, L)
